So our bedroom has recently been painted blue, you can see a blog where I talked about our inspiration. I will do a blog update on the progress so far and the plans for the future soon. I happened to go to the salvation army the other day, I am not sure who was doing their pricing that day but I like the way they think.
This frame which is very large close to 2 feet wide, with non-glare glass, matted with original (or so I thought) art was $4.50. Yup that came home with me. I have always had a place in my heart for original art, it always depresses me when I see it at the thrift store so I tend to buy a lot.
The frame had good details but horrible colors. This was going to have to be remedied.
My supplies, the frame a paintbrush, a Flathead screwdriver that I used to pry back the nails in the back and General Finishes Lamp Black Milk Paint. A gift from my wonderful mother in law. I was a bit apprehensive about this paint, honestly I did not think I would like it. I should have know better Mary has wonderful taste. So last night I started watching the Killers and painting.
After I had taken everything apart I decided after seeing how aged the matte was that I would paint that as well. I saw a blog a while back who had done that and this one had a spot that was rust so I figured what the heck.
Love, love, love the result.
